Healing Jealousy in Relationships
One time or another, we all had an experience of jealousy in our romantic life. Whether we were cheated on, left for someone else or simply found ourselves competing with a girlfriend for the attention of single man, jealousy is an ugly feeling. The green monster makes us feel hopeless and powerless.
Jealous feelings are caused by our belief that we are not enough. We falsely believe that we need someone else out there to prove to us that we are attractive, lovable and worthy of attention. When another woman is getting the attention we seek, we automatically get angry at them or the object of our affection instead of loving ourselves. This mental energy drains us and we give away our own power.
To heal jealous feelings, just remember that all the love you need is already inside of you. When someone is not interested in you, you would not want them anyway if you really loved yourself. If you feel jealous, turn your awareness back to you and give yourself the attention you crave. Ask yourself what you really need from that other person and find a way to fulfill that want within you.
A great way to do this is with self-hypnosis or intentional visualization. Close your eyes and access the uncomfortable emotions and ask yourself what is it that I really want? You will find that it has nothing to do with the other person but an unmet need inside of you. As you become the source of your own love and support, you will stop grasping for reassurance out there and find that men will be competing over you!
